What Does CTP Stand For?

CTP is the abbreviation of "Computer to Plate", which means "computer direct platemaking" in Chinese. It is a digital printing platemaking technology that directly converts image information in the computer into printing plates without using traditional film and manual platemaking processes.

CTP workflow:

Computer input: The image data is transmitted to the platemaking equipment through the computer.

Direct exposure: The equipment directly exposes the image area to be printed on the surface of the plate (such as aluminum plate) through laser or ultraviolet exposure technology.

Chemical treatment: The exposed plate is developed to form a printable image part.

Advantages of CTP:

Improve platemaking efficiency: Eliminate the film production process and shorten the platemaking time.

Higher precision: Provide higher resolution image output to ensure printing quality.

Environmental protection and energy saving: Reduce the use of film and chemicals and reduce environmental pollution.

Reduce costs: Reduce material waste and manual operations and improve production efficiency.

CTP technology is widely used in commercial printing, publishing, packaging and other industries, and has become one of the mainstream technologies of modern printing.
