How Many Types Of CTP Plates Are There?

Thermal CTP plate: Like the related products developed and produced by Lucky Huaguang Printing Technology Co., Ltd. and Fujifilm (China) Investment Co., Ltd., thermal CTP plate uses the principle of thermal imaging. When the thermal material on the plate is irradiated by thermal laser, physical or chemical changes will occur to form an image. Thermal CTP plate has the characteristics of high resolution and can accurately restore image details. It is widely used in high-end commercial printing and packaging printing fields with extremely high requirements for printing quality, such as making exquisite picture albums, high-end product packaging boxes, etc.
Purple laser CTP plate: Like the purple laser chemical-free CTP plate produced by Hangzhou Kelei Electromechanical Industry Co., Ltd., it is exposed to the image through purple laser light source. The short wavelength of purple laser makes the purple laser CTP plate perform well in resolution and imaging speed, and can make plates quickly and accurately. It is often used in commercial printing and newspaper printing, which have requirements for production efficiency and imaging quality, and can meet the needs of large-scale printing production.
Silver salt CTP plate: This plate uses silver salt as a photosensitive substance, which has the advantages of high sensitivity and good imaging quality. However, due to the high cost of silver salt, the use of silver salt CTP plates is relatively less extensive than thermal and violet laser CTP plates. They are mainly used in high-end printing fields that require strict color reproduction and image details, such as art prints, high-end photography collections, etc.
Inkjet CTP plate: Inkjet CTP plate sprays ink directly onto the plate to form an image by inkjet. Its advantage is that the platemaking process is relatively simple, the cost is low, and the impact on the environment is small. However, it may be slightly inferior to other types of CTP plates in terms of resolution and printing quality. It is more suitable for some printing scenarios that do not require particularly high printing quality and pursue low cost and high efficiency, such as general promotional material printing.
